When Paris Saint-Germain’s defensive midfielder Idrissa Gueye sat out one match for no declared reason, the hate storm that he faced was vicious, he was investigated for homophobia (by the ethics committee, ironically enough) and shunned by the French media and ultimately his PSG sought out selling him back to his previous team Everton (deal is being negotiated as of the time of writing these words) (football soccer)
The simple reason for this brutal attack was the fact that he is a Muslim and the game in question was being played with rainbow shirts, in support of homosexuality.
The man never sounded off on the matter; he just chose to not engage. That was enough for many people to unleash hell on the guy, they even tried to force him to publish a photo of himself wearing the disgraceful shirt.
Here is a fact: Islam has never and will never go down the same route as other religions in pretending to tolerate or condone such a crime.
When you are in Qatar, you must know that the law of the land forbids the spreading of this destructive ideology. Homosexuality is a harmful and disgusting sin that will never have a place in any Muslim community.
But you know what’s the difference between a Muslim community and those who unleashed the Armageddon of hate and anger on Gueye, it’s that among Muslims, you might not be able to advertise your stomach-turning sins in the middle of the street, but you will also never be THREATENED, or FORCED to participate in any activity that you don’t want to participate in.
The fine line between respecting privacy and individual rights and saving societies from descending into absolute degeneracy is a not-so-fine line and Muslims know how to walk.
